TP-LINK supports networking in AP mode

Spread the love

The last time I took apart TP-LINK’ s XDR 5480, I concluded with one drawback: it does not support networking in AP mode. And then there were a couple of responses that said yes! In a realistic way, I’ ll do it for once. I believe that there are a lot of people who have this kind of networking needs, manufacturers should consider the needs of users, for the user’ s sake, the product naturally popular.

If you have a primary routing, you do n’t need TPLINK’ s wireless router as the primary route, and networking in AP mode can solve this problem, as well as wiring problems, such as weak cells that do not want to be included in the main route and only use the cat dial master route.

For example, as shown below, there are already soft routing master routers, with three ports, one WAN and two LAN, which is the time to connect two wireless router to the LAN port of the main route.

Schematic diagram of each equipment connection is as follows:

If your main router does n’t have enough LAN ports, connect to the switch, as shown in the figure below.

If you only use Optical model to route the route, connect it directly to the LAN port of Optic model. Today’ s Optical model is all gigabytes, four of which have an iTV port, if you do not need ITV, you go into the light cat to change this number into LAN mouth, three LAN ports, home environment how can all three wireless bar.

The diagram of the light cat connection is as follows:

Look at the front wiring, all understand what the role and benefits? If you do n’t understand, prove you did not need it.

Now tell me how to set it up.

Just find the DHCP service in the TPLINK router and turn it off, which is exactly the same as switching to “AP mode”, and look for the hint:

“Turn off DHCP, all router ports will become LAN ports, IP addresses will be automatically routed from the front end, and domain logins can be used to access the admin page. Are you sure you want to turn off?”

All the ports become LAN ports, and yes, this is the signature feature that becomes AP mode or bridge mode. But TP-LINK does n’t have the obvious options like Millet, Asus, or Netgear.

After you turn off the DHCP service, any LAN port can be connected to the main route, where the iP is allocated by the primary route where you can view the router’ s IP address and log in using the IP to set it up. The hint is that you can enter the admin page with the domain name, but I tried not to open it:

I like to customize IP, such as the master routing IP is and change the TP routing LAN port to IP 192. 168. 0.11

At this point you can carry out mesh network. Add a new road at the top right corner of the dot by:

When you open it up, it’ s like this:

Another router ready to join the network, if the new machine does not need to restore the factory settings, and a minute after the boot button on the fuselage, the light will flash. Then go back to the screen above and click “I have pressed”.

Look at this interface. It should be able to add more than one at a time. After the dot is added it waits, and the group goes up in less than a minute, quickly.

After group, the wireless parameters you set up on the main node are automatically synchronized to all the child nodes, and the edges are a benefit of networking.

2. 4 G and 5 G You can set different wifi names, or set up dual-band integration, which does not force you to use duplex combination.

The IP open of the child node can not access the page, but only the IP on the master node to enter the admin page:

If you want a child node to change a special WIFI name, it wo n’t.

Some people will ask the network, after the sub-node network cable, which port to plug in? In general, if it supports blind plugging, just plug casually, and if you do not support blind plug WAN mouth.

There’ s nothing else to talk about, because the operation is simple and quick. Put on the roaming switch for xiaomi 10:

I do n’t think the mesh group has anything to do with automatic switching, unless some models can support k and v protocols when they need to turn on the mesh.

Different brands, different models, so long as it supports k and v, you can manually network these routes, wireline can switch from dhcp service to lan port, wireless can bridge / wireless relay (must use fixed channel).
