In the Redmi AX6 disassembly after the comparison, listed the power parameters of each FEM, a number of people look at the power gap is very large, the data to give a person’s intuitive feeling is indeed so, so this article with the actual test to compare the wireless speed gap is also so large.
The two router bodies are shown below, the left is not hard to see the Redmi AX6, the right is very hard to see the Xiaomi AX3600.
Let’s start with the version, which has been suggested.
Redmi AX6 current version 1.0.16.
Xiaomi AX3600 current version 1.0.67.
AX200 driver version: 126.96.36.199
PCE-AC88 driver version: 1.558.53.1
PCE-AC88 and AX200 installed on the same desktop computer (I5-4590), the two wireless cards with the same antenna, are using the PCE-AC88 original extension antenna socket and antenna.
I wanted to save some time and test with one less phone, but after not, or took the Apple se2 to supplement, so the test required more time.
The wireless settings of both routers are as follows.
First test the signal strength, the two routers are placed in the “WIFI” position in the figure below, with a computer equipped with AX200 wireless card placed in four locations A, B, C, D record wireless signal strength, each location recording time of 3 minutes. The signal strength is changing every second and cannot be compared with a fixed value, so the continuous recording of the data points are linked into a fantastic perfect line (commonly known as: curve) for comparison.
The results are as follows.
As shown above, the 2.4G of Redmi AX6 is stronger than that of Xiaomi AX3600 at the location of point A, which is separated by a wall, and the 5G signal of both is about the same.
In the B point position separated by two walls. Xiaomi AX3600 2.4G stronger, both 5G entangled, cut and dried.
In a straight line distance of 11 meters away from the location C point, 2.4G is stronger Xiaomi, 5G is stronger Redmi….. What is the reasoning.?
Finally downstairs in the location of point D, Xiaomi AX3600 2.4G signal strength of the Redmi AX6 left a few blocks away so far, but, 5G signal why than the Redmi AX6, must have been an illusion.
Now start using a variety of receiving devices to test the wireless speed of the two, because of time I only test point C and D, far location to reflect the strengths and weaknesses of the wireless signal ah, with different receiving devices, you can avoid generalizations.
The connection is probably a speedtest server network card connected to the WAN port of the router, WAN port set static way to access the Internet, the network card is intel x550-t2, simulating a gigabit up and down broadband. The actual speed test results will be a little bit higher, but it does not matter, for the sake of comparison only, we are a little bit higher, fair.
First, the first is to use PCE-AC88 this WIFI5 wireless network card to test
Each location connected to the speed test 6 times, and finally take the average to do a comparison, if only to take a certain value to do a comparison, there is no meaning, not fair, theoretically 100 times in a row to test the speed finally take the average of the most accurate, but do so I will go crazy, after my strict measurement and try, test 6 times will not go crazy.
All the results are as follows: (unit: Mbps/s)
The comparison of the average value is shown below: (Unit: Mbps/s)
PCE-AC88 is a 4x4mimo wireless card, with both 5G match, but only 80MHz bandwidth, the highest connection rate in close proximity is 1733Mbps, if the Redmi AX5 and Xiaomi AX1800, this card matches the highest rate of only 866Mbps, so if you have a 3×3 or 4×4 wireless card, this time AX6 and AX3600 5G will reflect the advantage.
At point C, the Xiaomi AX3600 is significantly faster than the Redmi AX5, and the difference is not much at point D downstairs. 2.4G speed, in both locations is a little faster than the Xiaomi AX3600.
Second, the test with Intel AX200 wireless network card
AX200 is the only WI-FI6 wireless card before the stop, and also supports 160MHz, the disadvantage is only 2x2mimo. 5G maximum rate connected to these two routers is 2.4Gbps. in the C and D points measured the speed of the following table: (unit: Mbps / s)
The average values are compared in the following graphs.
The AX200 wireless card measured faster than Xiaomi AX3600 in both C and D positions.
Third, using Xiaomi 10 cell phone test
Xiaomi 10 cell phone supports 2x2mimo WIFI6 @80MHz bandwidth, with a maximum connection rate of 1.2Gbps in close proximity. test results are listed below: (Mbps/s)
The average values are compared in the following graphs.
Xiaomi 10 phones in point C position, Xiaomi AX3600 5G speed is only a little bit faster than the Redmi AX6 point point point point point point point, 2.4G is obviously faster;.
Look at the D point, God, Redmi AX6 than Xiaomi AX3600 a little faster, illogical ah.
Then use another phone test to see the situation.
Fourth, using IPhone SE2 to do the test
SE2 and Xiaomi 10 is the same WIFI6 specifications, different WIFI chip. The results are shown in the table below: (Mbps/s)
2.4G Xiaomi AX3600 is a little better, 5G is a little better than Redmi AX6, 5G speed is about the same.
The above four different receiving devices in two of the same location for speed measurement, Xiaomi AX3600 is not much better than the Redmi AX6. Could there be a difference in the antenna? I take apart to see it.
Below is the Xiaomi AX3600 antenna, as I expected, not a copper tube, and not all PCB version of the antenna, but add a screw antenna body, this one is definitely 5G, because the above printed RT-PCB043 AX3600-5.8GHz, I guess the spiral antenna is low frequency 5.2G low band.
The following picture is the red rice AX6 antenna, see inside is also a PCB version, but I can not take it out, mouth mouth pliers can not reach inside, there is a slot, was stuck very tight, I guess with the Xiaomi AX3600 antenna exactly the same.
Since there is no difference in the antenna, it is not a problem with the antenna.
I do not know how to summarize. Look at it yourself. Redmi AX6 power supply over time will be hot, probably due to the small size of the impact of heat dissipation, and standby power is not low, there are more than 7W, can not stand to change a 2A other power supply, but to buy an adapter cable, Xiaomi power DC port specifications are 4.0 1.7.
A few people have asked how to choose between Redmi AX6 and Huawei AX3 pro, in both C and D position, AX3 Pro is not as fast as Redmi AX6. If you ask how to choose between Redmi AX6 or Xiaomi AX3600 and TPLINK’s XDR5430, I’m not sure yet, because XDR5430 is now being used as a wireless AP and has not been measured in detail. But already know is mate20 play king sometimes will be stuck, until the active switch WIFI or switch WIFI or off WIFI switch data Internet to resume the game, referred to as “broken flow”, not regularly.
I always feel that Huawei mate20 and open 160 bandwidth non-Huawei router has the problem of poor compatibility, for example, mate20 and Redmi AX6 continuous speed test, the speed will get lower and lower, from more than 700 down to more than 400, in a very close distance, before and R7800 also have similar problems. It is also possible that the mate20 itself is the problem (the first phone that supports 160MHz), perhaps the model after P40 does not have these problems.
