A. Appearance and hardware configuration
MIFON X1s feels like the X1 cloaked in Iron Man’s battle suit.

The top of the top body has an LCD display that shows real-time network speed and the number of devices accessed. There are few wireless routers that add LCD screens.

Combined with the previous 10 spatial streams and the total wireless rate, it can be projected like this: if 2+4+4, the total rate is 7800Mbps, if 3+3+4, the total rate is 7500mbps.
So its wireless is like this: 2.4G for 3x3mimo (860Mbps) + 5G for 3x3mimo (1801Mbps) + 5G for 4x4mimo (4804Mbps) = 7465Mbps.
I have dismantled MIFON X1 last year, was curious, which the 2.4G chip and 5G1 chip is to support 3T3R, also made out of the three-way RF circuit, just one way of the FEM chip is not soldered on. Because the MIFON X1 wireless specifications is “2 + 2 + 4”.

I took Winfi software to check the tri-band wireless rate and channel of this MIFON X1s. As the download figure.
From the content of the red box in the above figure, I can see that the BCM43684, which supports 160MHz, works on the low frequency 5G, which reassures me.
This is not simply a 5G swap that can be done in the software, but requires those seven media filters to be swapped as well.
Now it is clear that the wireless chip configuration of MIFON X1s is as follows
5G1 (low frequency): BCM43684
5G2 (high frequency): BCM6710
Note that the BCM6710 is available in two pieces. One works in the 2.4G band, and one works in the 5G high frequency band.
With the above hardware information, so that further testing.
Why not directly disassemble the hardware to see? Because this one is sent to test, I’m afraid to break down, but also returned to others.
Second, small packet forwarding performance test
MIFON WAN port support 2.5Gbps rate, other LAN support 1Gbps, in order to test the maximum, a WAN port while doing forwarding tests to three LAN ports, the sum of the three LAN ports is its NAT performance.
Test small packet forwarding with the platform is minismb, 64byte small packet test results are as follows.
Look at the RX Packet Rate in line 5 of the above chart, the sum of the three corresponding LAN ports behind is 1.464Mpps, which is also the same score for the ASUS AX86U. This value for the 2.5G WAN port is not qualified, theoretically to reach 3.72Mpps. 1.464Mpps only reaches the line speed of the Gigabit port. In my opinion, it is Broadcom is too cheap.
However, there is no need to worry about it not running 2.5G bandwidth, when using large packets both directions can run the full 2.5Gbps bandwidth:.
Look at line 7 of the above chart, the WAN port received 2.5Gbps, the sum of the three LAN ports 2.48Gbps.
Third, USB read and write speed test
Insert a 500G solid-state mobile hard drive into the USB3.0 interface of the wireless router, respectively, with different connected devices to read and write operations to 4 test the read and write speed of USB3.0.
MIFON X1s has two USB3.0, I have actually tested 2 ports, the speed is the same, but also supports SMB sharing and FTP sharing. It seems that SMB only supports 1.0.
手Wirelessly transferring files with FTP sharing will be significantly faster. I always think that FTP sharing on routers is more practical, but unfortunately not all routers support FTP sharing.
Read speed under LAN port with network cable connection reached the gigabit limit of 112MB/s and write speed of 102MB/s.
computers with wireless LAN cards AX200 are not as fast as with 1G LAN, with a read speed of 95MB/s and a write speed of 51MB/s.
Xiaomi 10 and Xiaomi 11 use ES file browser to test the transfer speed, because Xiaomi 11 supports 160MHz, it has the fastest read speed, reaching 144MB/s, and the write speed is about the same. Screenshot of Xiaomi 11 when transferring a single large file.
Fourth, the effect of MU-MIMO actual test
I did not see the MU-MIMO option switch in the settings interface, and I do not know if it is supported, so I tested it directly. when transmitting from a single device.
I only took 4x4mimo 5G game to test, and only use 80MHz, because there is a Xiaomi 11 support 160MHz, in order to allow Xiaomi 10 and QCA6391 wireless card together with a smooth test, together with 80MHz. wireless settings are as follows.
The test is simple, using IxChariot to send data from the 2.5G port to 2 or 3 devices at the same time.
First, let’s warm up with Xiaomi 10 and Xiaomi 11:.
A total wireless transmission speed of 968 Mbps for two cell phones.
What if three, two phones plus the QCA6391, results in the following.
The total of the three sets of 761Mbps, the effect is not ideal ah.
Even with three sets of the same QCA6391 is almost 759Mbps
How about four units? Three QCA6391 + Xiaomi 10, four of these and 707Mbps
Using the same 5G chip ASUS AX86U, testing three QCA6391 and three QCA6391 + Xiaomi 10 results in 1158Mbps and 1340Mbps respectively.
So MIFON X1s MU-MIMO did not take effect, wait for the next firmware update.
V. Link aggregation test
MIFON X1s supports link aggregation, turn on this function in the menu to.
Then set up the aggregation of the network card (I350-T4) in the computer.
Both were set up and connected to LAN2 and LAN3 of the router, but the link rate was shown to be only 1Gbps, and the speed was weird when lan to 5G.
The speed of multiple tests is less than 50Mbps, is it the problem of my settings?
VI. Wireless speed measurement in close proximity
Using the self-built speedtest server to connect to the 2.5G WAN port of the MIFON X1s router, we tested the wireless speed at close range with different receiving terminals. The devices to be tested are AX200, QCA6391, Xiaomi 11, Xiaomi 10, and Apple SE2, of which AX200 and Xiaomi 11 support 160MHz and Apple SE2’s 2.4G does not support 40MHz.
Varying different positions and distances to get the highest speed, so each result below is filtered by testing several times. All results are tabulated below: (Mbps)
Xiaomi 11 and AX200 in 160MHz and 2.5G network port, 5G downlink speed reached 1800Mbps, Apple’s 2.4G because only support 20MHz, so the speed is obviously inferior to other.
Xiaomi 11 in the connection of high-band 5G speed is not ideal, the highest is more than 800Mbps, adjusting multiple positions and distance is about the same, obviously inferior to Xiaomi 10. this really can not figure out.
Seven, wireless signal strength test
There is no corresponding 3+3+4 tri-band WiFi6 wireless router in hand, so do not take other to do comparison, direct single signal test.
In the WIFI location in the figure below, the computer with AX200 wireless card is placed in the four locations A, B, C, D in the figure below to measure the wireless signal strength, recording time 3 minutes.
MIFON X1s can not freely set the ssid name, can only set a prefix, after the system will automatically add. For example, if the SSID is set to acwifi, then the 2.4G wireless name is acwifi, the low-band 5G is acwifi-Game (channel: 36-64), and the high-band 5G is acwifi-5G (channel 14-161)
The signal test results are as follows.
Eight, the wireless speed test at different distances
After the previous test signal strength, followed by a test of wireless speed, this time with different receiving devices to test, recently bought AX210 wireless network card, so this time with AX210 to test the speed. There are also Xiaomi 11 and Apple SE2, a total of three.
The test method is also used to build speedtest speed server (Intel X550-T2 wired network card), connected to the router’s 2.5G WAN port, also test four locations, each location of each signal point for six consecutive tests, and finally take out the average to make a bar graph, easy to see. 2.4G speed is only measured at a distance of C and D points, 2.4G by interference factors too much.

Thanks to the 160MHz play, the X1s-Game in the bottom band was able to get close to 900Mbps at point C and over 500Mbps downstairs at point D. Not bad.

2. Xiaomi 11 speed test results.

The 5G averages are shown in the following table.
Xiaomi 11 relies on 160MHz high speed rate after one wall, the speed also keeps close to 1500Mbps speed, and can break 1000Mbps after two walls.
The average 2.4G speed is as follows.
3, Apple SE2 speed test results.
All results are tabulated below.
Because the Apple SE2 does not support 160HMz, as all Apple phones do, the speed is not as fast as the Xiaomi 11 and AX210 in front of it, but it is still over 800Mbps after one wall, and over 500Mbps at the B-point location.
The 5G average comparison is as follows.
The Apple phone does not support 160MHz, and the 5G1 speed performance in close proximity is significantly inferior to the AX210 and Xiaomi 11 in front of it.
The average speed of 2.4G is as follows.
The speed measurement above mainly looks at the low-band channel 5G (X1s-Game), while the high-frequency 5G in each location is slower than the low-frequency, because the frequency is high and penetration is poorer, which is a physical phenomenon. Therefore, you need high speed 5G or some distance away you use low-band 5G, and other infrequent devices are connected to high-frequency 5G.
Nine, game acceleration effect
The network port has a Game, specifically to the computer wired network card connection, when playing games can have accelerated effect, reduce latency, low-band 5G also with the “Game” effect. Cell phones connected to this 5G WIFI signal will be able to.
This function is actually the QOS effect, there is a QOS switch in the main interface. To have low game latency, you need to do priority forwarding of game packets, referred to as small packet priority. But this does not mean that there is a good low latency, because its role is not to give you acceleration out of thin air, but when there are many devices in use at home, all the small packets when you play the game are forwarded out by the router first to reduce the latency.
The idea stems from the fact that there is no significant delayed change in acceleration or non-acceleration. Haha
Xiaomi 11 latency is a little lower than Xiaomi 10:.
Xiaomi 11 play King minimum latency 40ms, not bad.
Ten, 2.4G wireless with 40 smart sockets
Here are 40 smart sockets, only support 2.4G, together with access to MIFON X1s 2.4G WIFI, and then in the cell phone APP at the same time to turn off / on these sockets, continuous operation more than 10 times, to see if the action will be consistent.
After connecting to MIFON X1s, the system shows the number of access devices: (smart socket before setting up a good connection ssid name: acwifi, so set the no name of the router to become acwifi, the socket can be directly connected by powering on.
After connection there is 2-3KB/s of downstream traffic, regardless of whether the socket switch is on or off.
The actual test operation more than 10 times on/off, 40 each time can synchronize the action, not a drop out.
That said, 40 smart sockets in the home is considered too many, right? Do I need to add 10 more smart sockets?
MIFON X1s compared to X1 has obvious changes, is to support 160MHz 5G on the lower band, making 160MHz has practicality; wireless configuration also upgraded to 3 + 3 + 4; MU-MIMO effect did not perform, may not open this function; dual LAN aggregation function, I did not successfully use on, I do not know what the reason. Advantage is tri-band, wired and wireless have accelerated channel, but tri-band routing is born for gamers; with two USB3.0 interface, and FTP sharing, Xiaomi 10 and Xiaomi 11 read USB speed is very good, write speed is general. I hope the WIFI name is still left to the user to customize, not to force a suffix.
