This time take the ASUS AX86U and TPLINK’s XDR6060 to test MU-MIMO and see how it works. Both routers have the same 5G wireless chip, BCM43684, with the same parameters and 2.5G network port.

The ASUS AX86U has a separate switch for MU-MIMO corresponding to both 802.11ac and 802.11ax. I turn on MU-MIMO for 802.11ax as well, with the following settings: DL/UL OFDMA + MU-MIMO, while MU-MIMO is not turned on under the default WIFI6.
The first is to take two 1x1mimo receiving devices to warm up and prepare, namely Xiaomi 5 and LeTV X910, both of which have a maximum 5G rate of 433Mbps and a single test speed of about 340Mbps.
The AX86U test results are shown below.
Wireless speed of only 349 Mbps for both units combined.
The XDR6060 test results are shown below.
The total wireless speed for both phones is 591Mbps, which is the same as the last value measured with the Netgear R9000.
From the above graph of AX86U and the total wireless speed, I can see that it does not support MU-MIMO. actually two 1x1mimo devices are not supported, very disappointing to me, the old model AC86U is to support two 1x1mimo ah! I can’t figure it out, I can’t figure it out, I can’t figure it out.

Now test it with two Xiaomi 4C with 2x2mimo, theoretically two 1x1mimo receiving devices do not support MU-MIMO mode, then the 2x2mimo will not support it even more. Look at the results.
AX86U test results are as follows.
The total wireless speed of the two Xiaomi 4Cs is 652Mbps.
The XDR6060 test results are as follows.
Two Xiaomi 4C two Xiaomi 4C total wireless speed is 702Mbps. say it supports well, and with the effect of 1100Mbps is far from, say support well, this MU-MIMO ability is also too low point.
Immediately test the two Xiaomi 4C after closing the MU-MIMO, to see the difference is not obvious. As shown below, the total speed of the two Xiaomi 4Cs after closing is 664Mbps.

I think the XDR6060 and AX86U do not support two 2x2mimo WI-FI 5 receiving devices running in MU-MIMO mode.
Now test how the WI-FI 6 receiving device, only AX200, 2x2mimo. I do not want to continue to test, because the above Xiaomi 4C are not supported. acwifi intuition that WIFI6 must not be supported!
Because AX200 and the two routers are supported 160MHz bandwidth, in order to start with a simple test, so first fixed using 80MHz bandwidth, if supported, and then set 160MHz, if 80MHz are not supported, not to toss 160MHz.
The test results of AX86U are as follows.
The total wireless speed of the two AX200s is 618Mbps. I can confirm that WIFI6 mode has been turned on, and the wireless connection rate of each AX200 has been checked to be 1.2Gbps, so I don’t know why it ran so low.
The test results of XDR6060 are as follows.
The total wireless speed of the two AX200s is 831Mbps.
To have a comparison, the wireless transmission speed when testing one AX200 alone is as follows.
The single unit measured 906Mbps, both significantly higher than the total speed of the two previously tested units. So it is concluded that both routers do not support MU-MIMO.

It is also possible that the Intel AX200 itself does not support MU-MIMO under WIFI6, there will be a possibility. Unfortunately, I only have a high WIFI6 Xiaomi 10 cell phone, and Apple SE2 more does not support MU-MIMO. QCA6391 is also the Xiaomi 10 cell phone WIFI chip, the following chart.

This can only be said that the Xiaomi AX3600 does not support it, does not mean that these two do not support it. Right? Immediately take out two Xiaomi AX1800 set 5G wireless bridge to test the two units. Two Xiaomi AX1800 successively wireless relay the two wireless routers 5G, and then use the C highway computer were connected to the two Xiaomi AX1800 router LAN port, it acts as a wireless network card to use.
